It's been awhile since I've gotten my thoughts out on anything but facebook status, and as contrived and lame as my status usually is, perhaps it's good to get away from any really deep thinking on paper for awhile.
This summer has been going pretty well for me so far. I've spent some time with some good friends and have even gotten up backpacking already. I have a whole month of freedom left and I have a few more opportunities to hang with friends and family, as well as breath some fresh Colorado mountain air.
Unfortunately, the garden is not as luscious as it was last year and that is because I didn't really plant one. I have 3 tomato plants, 3 pepper plants, some basil, cucumber, and a watermelon. (Which I completely believe will be a flop again this year.)
At the beginning of summer I was tearing through some pretty decent books like Beatrice and Virgil by Yann Martel but I have recently been a little more busy than what I was earlier, although I "could probably just watch" Band of Brothers I felt as a world history teacher I probably should read it and have been working my way through.
I've signed up for two races. The Warrior Dash at Copper Mountain in August and a half marathon in Fort Collins in September. I understand that I maybe completely insane but I actually HAVE been running and I've even got myself a gym membership.
Beyond that I've started my summer classes for my masters stuff and am looking forward to reading about Sport Law although I"m not sure about the Measurement and Evaluation class. That seems really teacher-y for my summer OFF teaching.
As far as the blogger is concerned. Yikes. I'll try to be better.
